Job summary

The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for a Physician (Primary Care) who will function in Primary Care Service and lead a Patient Aligned Care Team to provide comprehensive care for Veterans. The ideal candidate will have an MD or DO, a current full license to practice in the United States, and be eligible for board certification.

Qualifications

  • United States Citizenship required; non-citizens may be appointed if qualified citizens cannot be recruited.
  • MD or DO degree from an approved school; degree must be from a VA-approved year.
  • Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the United States.
  • Residency training approved by ACGE AO AOA with board certification eligibility.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Preferred experience: at least 2 years in a full-time primary care setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive primary care services to a defined panel of Veterans.
  • Lead a Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) including RN, LPN, and clerical staff.
  • Perform history taking, physical exams, orders for labs and studies, and develop treatment plans.
  • Coordinate care with specialists and maintain documentation in medical records.
