Job summary

Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a physician to provide primary care to veterans in a VA medical setting. This open continuous announcement supports ongoing vacancies and requires comprehensive history, exam, and management of health concerns with adherence to VA protocols.

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • MD/DO degree from approved school
  • Current full and unrestricted medical license in a US state or territory
  • residencies approved by ACGME/AOA or equivalent
  • Board certification preferred for faculty status
  • English proficiency required

Responsibilities

  • Perform and document history and physical exams
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a primary care panel
  • Document in electronic medical records and complete workload data
  • Provide medical care for acute and chronic conditions and preventive services
  • Order tests, medications, labs as appropriate and follow up on results
  • Educate patients on conditions and treatments
  • Consult other specialties as service agreements permit
  • Potential Women's Health duties as needed
