Job description

POSITION SUMMARY : The Physician is a part of a multidisciplinary team that provides comprehensive medical care to patients at Equitas Health Center Ohio, with a special focus on serving the LGBTQ community. The Physician works autonomously and collaboratively with staff to diagnose and manage patients' health care. Participation in developing, expanding, and maintaining the Equitas Health Medical Center program is expected.

SALARY : $200,000-$240,000

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS : Essential functions include, but are not limited to, traveling, driving or having reliable transportation; written communication; relationship building with clients and community partners; utilizing a computer for typing and research; attending meetings; and presenting to individuals and groups.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Provide high-quality outpatient medical services, including assessments, physical exams, diagnostic tests, diagnosis, and prescribing therapies including controlled substances and hormone therapy.
  • Educate patients on Transgender Health, HIV, primary care, and medication adherence strategies.
  • Deliver culturally competent healthcare focused on the LGBTQ community.
  • Contribute to the development of treatment plans within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Assist in developing and implementing clinic policies, protocols, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with administrative staff and the Medical Director to implement innovative care approaches and meet accreditation standards.
  • Build relationships with community providers and referral sources.
  • Stay updated on LGBTQ health, primary care, and HIV/AIDS topics through ongoing education.
  • Participate in quality improvement efforts to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Act as a collaborating physician for Advanced Practice Providers.
  • Demonstrate positive regard and excellent customer service to clients.
  • Develop cultural competency and respect diversity in daily interactions.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment with respect for diversity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • EDUCATION / LICENSURE :

    • Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy from an accredited university.
    • Completion of an accredited residency program.
    • Active, unrestricted Ohio medical license.
    • Federal DEA license.
    • Board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Qualifications :

    • Passion for and cultural competence in serving LGBTQ patients.
    • Ability to obtain credentialing and privileges from the Board.
    • Excellent bedside manner and customer service commitment.
    • Availability to cover clinic one Saturday morning per month and some evenings.
    • Sensitivity and competence in working with LGBTQ communities, minorities, and HIV/AIDS.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Epic preferred; ability to learn new technologies.
    • Reliable transportation and valid Ohio driver’s license.

    OTHER INFORMATION :
