Job summary

Florida State University in Tallahassee invites applications for a Physician Assistant within FSU PrimaryHealth (College of Medicine). This full-time, on-site role provides comprehensive primary care across the lifespan in a collaborative academic medical setting.

The PA will work with physicians and the care team to deliver preventive care, manage chronic conditions, perform procedures within scope, and contribute to education of medical students and residents.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited PA training program.
• Current Florida PA license or eligible for licensure within 30 days of hire.
• Current NCCPA certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Current DEA license or the ability to obtain within one year of hire.
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification by certifying agency, or the ability to obtain prior to hire.
• Post-job offer, but prior to hire, the following will be required: Current PPD test; physical examination.
• Within 30 days of hire, provide tetanus vaccination and Hepatitis B immunity.

Responsibilities

• Provides comprehensive primary care services across the lifespan, including preventive care, acute illness evaluation and treatment, chronic disease management, same-day access visits, and care coordination.
• Maintains an assigned patient panel while collaborating closely with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to provide timely, high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Performs and documents comprehensive assessments; develops diagnostic and treatment plans; orders, interprets, and communicates lab and imaging results; prescribes therapies within scope.
• Collaborates with physicians, clinical leaders, and interdisciplinary team members on quality improvement, patient safety, population health, care management, and protocol development.
