Job summary

Hartford HealthCare seeks Nurse Practitioners (FNP, ANP, AGNP) and Physician Assistants (PA) for 100% outpatient primary care in Bristol, CT. This part-time position offers a 32-hour workweek with no on-call requirements, and is supported by Hartford HealthCare’s advanced practice leadership and technology platforms.

Licensure in Connecticut is required or eligibility, with APRN or PA training. Two years of post-graduate experience is preferred. Competitive benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

• Licensure: Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible)
• Training: APRN (Family, Adult/Geri Nurse Practitioner) or PA
• Two years of post-graduate experience as a Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine physical examinations and develop medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients under physician supervision.
• Collaborate with the care team to formulate plans for further health evaluation or referrals as needed.
• Provide appropriate treatment within approved scopes of practice and communicate care plans to patients.

Nurse Practitioners And Physician Assistants Role Scope

Under established guidelines and in collaboration and/or supervision with the practice physician(s), Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants perform routine physical examinations, and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients.

In consultation with the physician(s) and care team members, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, e.g., referral to other health team members or specialists.

Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of the provider’s practice as designated by protocols and identifies problems outside of their scope of practice and refers appropriately to physician.
