Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Veteran Affairs Outpatient Clinic

Join our team as a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) at the Veteran Affairs Outpatient Clinic in Denton, TX. Valor Healthcare is seeking a passionate NP to provide primary care services to veterans, offering a competitive salary, excellent benefits, and a supportive work environment.

Position Summary

The NP will diagnose, treat, and manage diseases and injuries, focusing on preventive and therapeutic care for veterans. Responsibilities include conducting physical exams, developing care plans, ordering diagnostic tests, counseling patients, and collaborating with the healthcare team. The role requires working under the supervision of a physician in accordance with state licensing laws.

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with no nights, weekends, or on-call duties.

Core Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and treat veterans under physician supervision
  • Perform physical examinations and develop management plans
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Educate patients on medications and health maintenance
  • Coordinate with external providers and manage clinical documentation
  • Ensure compliance with VA guidelines and documentation standards
  • Participate in outreach and patient enrollment activities
Minimum Qualifications
  • MSN from an accredited program with a nurse practitioner specialization
  • At least two years of recent clinical experience in primary or ambulatory care
  • Credentialed and in good standing with the VA
  • Valid, unrestricted nursing license in Texas
  • Current BLS certification (renewed as required)
  • DEA registration
  • Strong computer and EMR skills
