NURSE PRACTITIONER M.S./ PRIMARY CARE- FULL TIME 40 HOURS/ ROTATING/ BWH NORWOODJob Summary
GENERAL OVERVIEWQualifications
Education:
Master's in Nursing (MSN) (or) DNP (or) PhD Degree in Nursing required.
Completion of a Master’s or post Masters’ degree in Adult or Family NP program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).
Satisfactory completion of an approved formal education program which has as its objective the preparation of professional nurses to practice as nurse practitioner.
Current Adult/Gerontology (AGNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Certification by an accredited APRN certifying body required.
Current APRN License to practice in Massachusetts Required.
Experience:
1. Five (5) + years of experience in office-based Primary Care as an NP required.
2. Recent (within last 5 years) independent management for a panel >500 patients required.
3 . Demonstrated ability to care for a diverse patient population, including acute and chronic disease management as an NP required.
4. Demonstrated ability to care for a broad range of ages as a nurse practitioner required (ages 16 and up).
5. Experience managing inter-visit care via asynchronous modalities including phone visits, electronic communication and in-basket management as an NP required.
6. Prior experience working in a team-based care environment required.
7. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Other:
ANA or other appropriate nursing certification in area of practice and authorization by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing to practice in the expanded role. DEA for prescription writing.

Expert clinical judgement skills to function in the independent role
Excellent interpersonal relationship and communication skills in order tocollaborate with patients’ families, staff and community health workers.
Ability to work with frequent stress resulting from busy clinical settings andchanging organizational climate.
Ability to be self-directive and demonstrate initiative in addressingresponsibilities of position.
Ability to utilize appropriate problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
Working Conditions
Works in a variety of patient care environments where there may be exposureto communicable disease, and hazardous materials.
Supervisory Responsibilities
May assume responsibility for providing direction to designated personnel
