PracticeSetting:
- Inpatient psychiatric unit
- Duties involve rounding, admissions, and managing primary care needs for patients undergoing inpatient psychiatric treatment
Schedule:
- Full-time coverage
- Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts
- No weekends or call coverage required
PatientPopulation: Ages 10 to geriatric
EMR: Cerner
Credentialing: 60 days
Requirements:
- Active Massachusetts licensure
- Board certification
- AHA BLS certification
- Minimum 2-years Primary Care experience or equivalent
Job Responsibilities (Generalized):
- Conductcomprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treata variety of medical conditions
- Developand implement individualized treatment plans
- Orderand interpret diagnostic tests
- Prescribemedications and manage chronic conditions
- Providepatient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices.
- Performprocedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
- Collaboratewith physicians and other healthcare providers to ensurecoordinated care
- Documentpatient care accurately and thoroughly
Skills:
- Strongclinical knowledge and assessment skills
- Excellentcommunication and interpersonal skills to build rapportwith patients
- Proficiencyin performing physical examinations and proceduresrelevant to their specialty
- Criticalthinking and problem-solving skills to diagnose andmanage complex medical conditions
- Timemanagement skills to efficiently manage a patient workload
- Abilityto work independently while also collaboratingeffectively with a healthcare team
Requirements
Education:
- Masterof Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NPspecialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology,pediatrics)
Licenses & Certifications:
- Activeand unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse(APRN) license in Massachusetts
- Nationalcertification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by arecognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy ofNurse Practitioners [AANP])
Experience:
- Whilespecific requirements may vary, most locum APP positionsprefer candidates with at least one year of experiencein a clinical setting relevant to their specialty
Travel:
