Job summary

Community Health Center of Groton is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to provide clinical and technical support for primary care providers in a patient-centered medical home. You will perform pre-visit preparation, document vital signs and chief complaints, and conduct EKG, vision and hearing testing, while maintaining infection control and patient flow.

Responsibilities include utilizing the Planned Care Dashboard, scheduling tests/referrals, and collaborating with the care team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant course from an accredited school.
• MA certification (AAMA/NHA/NCCT) or AMT registration within 90 days of hire.
• EKG use, scheduling, word processing and computer skills, and familiarity with medical testing procedures.
• Strong organizational skills and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Team-focused with leadership qualities.
• CPR certification: Red Cross or AHA BLS/AED required.

Responsibilities

• Apply evidence-based guidelines and perform pre-visit preparation with the Planned Care Dashboard.
• Prepare patients for provider visits using established criteria.
• Accurately document chief complaint and screening results.
• Perform CLIA waived tests, EKG, hearing & vision tests.
• Prioritize daily tasks to reduce waiting times.
• Collaborate with providers and staff to facilitate patient flow.
• Schedule tests and referrals in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and equipment logs.
• Set up and stock exam rooms; ensure end-of-day cleaning.
• Adhere to infection control and CPR requirements; participate in trainings.
