Minnesota Direct Care & Treatment in Saint Peter, MN seeks a Primary Care Physician to join our Forensic Services medical group. The role provides acute illness care, chronic disease management, and preventative care, collaborating with psychiatry and nursing staff across living units.

The position requires an active Minnesota medical license or eligibility, Board certification in Family Practice or Internal Medicine, and a commitment to whole-person care in a residential facility.

Qualifications

• An active unrestricted State of Minnesota medical license, or ability to obtain a State license.
• Board certification by the American Boards of Family Practice or Internal Medicine.
• Strong knowledge of modern medical and psychiatric practice, especially for populations served.
• Experience with adults with severe mental illness is preferred.
• Commitment to cultural responsiveness and working with diverse communities.

Responsibilities

• Provide acute illness care in clinic and on living units.
• Continue chronic disease care and preventive care per national guidelines.
• Refer to outside specialists as needed.
• Provide nursing home care.
• Offer phone coverage on nights and weekends with partners.
• Collaborate with physician and nurse practitioner teams on patient care.
• Collaborate with psychiatry providers and mental health team for whole-person care.
