Responsibilities

The Department of Internal Medicine at the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine, University of South Alabama, is seeking a fulltime, board eligible or board certified Primary Care Physician/Internist at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.

In addition to delivering advanced, innovative patient care across USA Health hospitals and clinics, the Whiddon College of Medicine provides first class training for the next generation of physicians, scientists, and medical students. USA Health is committed to improving the quality of life for residents across the Gulf Coast and is managed by USA HealthCare Management, LLC.

We are seeking applicants who understand the clinical, educational, and administrative needs of internal medicine residents and medical students (years 1-4) within a smaller medical school environment. Successful candidates will:

• Support residency program educational and clinical activities by serving as an attending and conducting oversight
• Provide independent primary care services, including continuity care, wellness visits, and acute care access
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Engage in academic advancement through the College's promotions process

Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.
