Job summary

Ascension Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Ascension Medical Group Clinic in North Vernon, IN. This full-time role supports primary care, assists with patient visits, and handles basic clerical tasks in a busy clinic.

You will interview patients, take vital signs, prepare exam rooms, and help with order transcription and documentation under supervision. Excellent teamwork and reliability are expected.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 Month of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Medical Assistant credential or registration within 3 Months of hire date or job transfer date. Certified or Registered accepted.
• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Note: required licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists with treatments ordered by provider as supervised by provider or RN. Performs select clinical duties.
• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
• Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
• Performs basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies. Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
• May document the provider's encounter with patients. Transcribes patient orders including labs, radiology tests and medications.
