Job summary

FamilyCare Health Centers in Teays Valley, West Virginia is seeking a Behavioral Health Counselor to integrate behavioral health care within the primary care setting. You will assess patients, develop treatment plans, and work closely with physicians and staff.

Qualified candidates hold WV licensure as LICSW, LGSW, or LPC, have strong knowledge of behavioral medicine and psycho-pharmacology, and can lead psycho-education classes and consult with the care team.

Qualifications

• Current West Virginia licensure as LICSW, LGSW, or LPC.
• Strong knowledge of behavioral medicine and evidence-based treatments.
• Ability to assess mental and behavioral conditions and consult with care providers.
• Experience with psycho-pharmacology and psycho-education.

Responsibilities

• Assist primary health care providers in recognizing and treating psychological and/or emotional problems.
• Develop and implement therapeutic treatment plans in a medical setting.
• Counsels individuals and groups regarding psychological or emotional problems.
• Facilitate psycho-education classes and lead educational sessions.
• Collaborate with the care team and participate in meetings and quality improvement activities.
