Primary Care Assistant Professor - Internal Medicine

Location: Charlottesville, VA

The Department of Medicine's Division of General, Geriatric, Palliative, and Hospital Medicine at the University of Virginia is seeking candidates for tenure-ineligible assistant professor positions to provide care at our University Physicians Charlottesville practice.

Position Details:
  1. Academic Outpatient Location
  2. Epic EMR
  3. 8+ Providers
  4. 16-20 Patients Daily
  5. Call: 2-4 weeks/year depending on other clinical duties
  6. Diagnosis and management of common medical conditions and disease prevention
  7. Supervision and teaching of medical residents during primary care blocks or ambulatory rotations
  8. Optional attendance on the general medicine inpatient unit at University of Virginia Health System for 2-4 weeks per year
  9. Develop an established practice to serve the expanding population
  10. Rank and tenure status depend on qualifications
  11. Labs, x-rays, EKG, point of care testing, and vaccinations
Qualifications:
  1. MD or DO
  2. Board-eligible/board-certified in Internal Medicine
  3. Commitment to providing excellent patient care
