Job description

Mercy Clinic Primary Care - Lowell

Full-Time; 40 hours/week, M-F 8am-5pm

Overview:
  • Prepare patients for visits by completing the Advanced Standard room process, including entering chief complaints, taking vital signs, reviewing medical history and allergies, medication reconciliation, and working the Encounter Guide to close care gaps such as screenings and assessments.
  • Assist with in-office testing like blood draws, mental status exams, EKGs, oxygen studies, and point of care testing.
  • Administer vaccines and injections within scope of practice.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments as needed.
  • Collaborate with providers and the care team to monitor and coordinate care plans.
Medical Assistant Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Certification: Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Preferred Experience: 6 months in a clinical healthcare setting, preferably in primary care.
  • Certified Medical Assistant: Active certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA) or EMT/Paramedic accepted. BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
LPN/RN Qualifications:
  • Education: Diploma in Practical Nursing or Registered Nurse.
  • Licensure: Active LPN or RN license.
  • Experience: Not required, but prior experience in a physician's office, especially in Family Medicine or OB/GYN, is preferred.
