Job summary

South County Health is seeking a full-time physician assistant or nurse practitioner to serve as a Primary Care Access Specialist. This role supports same-day primary care visits, clinical coverage, and EMR inbox management across our primary care network.

The ideal candidate is a clinically skilled provider, comfortable working independently yet collaborating with physicians, APPs, practice managers, and leadership to ensure timely, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Board-certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
• Current licensure in Rhode Island or eligibility to be licensed.
• Current board certification or eligibility and credentialing requirements.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in primary care.

Responsibilities

• Provide same-day and short-notice primary care visits.
• Support providers and patients through clinical coverage and EMR inbox management.
• Practice across the primary care network in collaboration with physicians and APPs.

Job description

South County Health is seeking a full-time physician assistant or nurse practitioner to serve as a Primary Care Access Specialist to join our dynamic primary care team. This unique clinical role is designed for a provider who enjoys variety, collaboration, and making a meaningful difference in patient access and continuity of care.

The Primary Care Access Specialist provides same-day and short-notice primary care visits while also supporting providers and patients through clinical coverage and EMR inbox management when established PCPs are unavailable.

This is an opportunity to practice across our primary care network, work collaboratively with physicians and advanced practice providers, and help ensure patients receive timely, high-quality

The ideal candidate is a clinically skilled and adaptable primary care provider who is comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with physicians, APPs, practice managers, and clinical leadership.

Required Qualifications

Board certified as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
Current licensure in the State of Rhode Island or the ability to be licensed in RI.
Current applicable board certification or eligibility.
Ability to meet South County Health credentialing and privileging requirements.
A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience caring for primary care patients
