Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in New York seeks a Securities Valuation Analyst for the Municipal Bond team. You will merge financial theory with quantitative skills to produce valuations, build pricing models, and lead small projects in a collaborative environment.

You will leverage market data, analytics, and technology to improve processes, interact with clients and traders, and deliver accurate valuations under tight deadlines. A strong background in fixed income and Python/Excel is favored.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, or similar.
• Firm understanding of finance principles, mathematical/statistical modeling, fixed income, and data science.
• Experience working in fixed income, preferably Municipal Bonds.
• Clear, logical thinker with strong quantitative skills in a fast-paced environment with real-time market deadlines.
• Knowledge or proficiency in Python, Machine Learning, AI and practical Excel experience.
• Strong aptitude for learning and applying new technologies.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with clients, portfolio managers, traders, research, and sales.

Responsibilities

• Daily generation of securities valuations for multiple market closes, including data collection, price generation, QC and client interaction.
• Develop new growth areas through independent research and collaboration with traders, researchers, and tech teams.
• Improve product and service quality via market surveillance, data analysis, and process controls.
• Perform in-depth analysis on individual securities or portfolios and explain nuances to colleagues and clients.
• Develop and maintain sophisticated pricing models.
• Create methodologies and manage infrastructure to increase valuation speed and accuracy.
• Address client concerns daily with high-quality service and communication.

As a Securities Valuation Analyst in our Municipal Bond team, you will gain access to the trading, research, analytics, and technology resources of JPMorgan Chase, and combine financial concepts with quantitative skills to manage large volumes of data to develop pricing models and processes. You will leverage your product and market knowledge to identify growth areas and help lead projects in a collaborative environment where your contributions directly impact the business.

Job Responsibilities

• Daily generation of securities valuations for multiple market closes, entailing start-to-end ownership responsibilities (market data collection and analysis, price generation, quality control, and client interaction)
• Examine and develop new areas of product growth through independent self-guided research and interactions with clients, JPMorgan trading desks, research professionals, and technology teams
• Continuously improve product and service quality through daily market surveillance, communication with market participants, data/financial analysis, enhanced process controls, and ensuring data quality
• Perform in-depth analysis on an individual security or portfolio of securities and explain nuances to colleagues and clients
• Develop and maintain sophisticated statistical models
• Develop cutting-edge methodologies and manage infrastructure to increase efficiency and speed of valuations
• Address client concerns daily with emphasis on providing first-class service and quality (email, calls, and in-person meetings)

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Master's degree or higher in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, or similar
• Firm understanding of principles of finance, mathematical and/or statistical modeling, fixed income, and data science
• Previous experience working in fixed income, primarily Municipal Bonds
• Clear, logical thinker with strong quantitative skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment with real-time market deadlines
• Knowledge or proficiency in Python, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and/or practical experience working with Excel
• Strong aptitude for learning and applying new technologies
• Excellent communication skills to interact with clients, portfolio managers, traders, research, and sales
