Job summary

ShopRite of Lacey in Lanoka Harbor, NJ is seeking a Scanning Clerk to deliver a great customer experience while maintaining pricing integrity storewide. You will ensure equipment and systems are maintained and communicate with all departments.

The role requires ability to read, write, and speak English, perform basic math, lift 25 lbs regularly, and work in varying temperatures. You will participate in price changes and uphold safety and QA standards while promoting current promotions.

Qualifications

• Read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs., and occasionally lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Operate a computer terminal and calculator.
• Interact with Customers in a friendly and helpful way.
• Work cooperatively with others.
• Adhere to schedules and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Complete weekly price changes transmitted to the store file from Wakefern.
• Maintain the pricing file to match weekly circulars and ads.
• Maintain UPL program by sorting and placing UPL tags.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and price standards.
• Perform duties in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations for scanning.
• Maintain a clean, neat, organized, and safe work environment.
• Clean and sanitize work surfaces, utensils and equipment per QA standards.
• Keep floor clean of debris and spills.
• Maintain pricing integrity on the sales floor with proper signage and tagging.
• Dress and groom per company policy and PPE rules.
• Perform duties in line with safety, policies, and regulations.
• Adhere to QA hand washing standards and glove use when handling food.
• Follow HAZCOM program and label instructions for chemicals.
• Regularly lift 25 lbs and up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Stand at workstation for long shifts, possibly over 8 hours.
• Check prices and know item locations.
• Promote current charitable promotions to customers.
• Understand shrink guidelines for Scanning operations.
• Report equipment problems immediately.
• Perform weekly Scanning audits for pricing accuracy.
• Greet Customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Communicate effectively with all departments.
• Complete applicable training programs.
• Follow ShopRite Service Priorities: Safety, Friendliness, Presentation, Efficiency.
• Maintain punctual and regular attendance.
• Work overtime as assigned.
• Work cooperatively with others.
• Must be 18+ to operate certain equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
