Job description

This role sits inside the Pricing function of a private equity-backed roll-up company managing systems integration and pricing execution across multiple acquired platforms from a centralized data warehouse. The environment is complex, fast-moving, and data-heavy — acquisitions bring new ERP instances, pricing structures, and data sources that need to be rationalized, understood, and acted on.

You’ll receive direction and fully scoped project briefs from the SVP of Pricing and drive them to completion — coordinating with IT, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams across a portfolio of active data and process initiatives.

This is not a strategy role. It is an execution role with real analytical depth and project ownership. You will be the person who takes an idea from brief to done.

What You'll Do
Project Execution
  • Receive scoped project direction and own delivery end-to-end — coordinating with IT, other business teams, and vendors without requiring SVP involvement in day-to-day progress
  • Serve as the business-side point of contact for IT on active development projects — representing requirements accurately, tracking open decisions, and knowing when to escape vs. decide
  • Maintain active project tracking across your workload: blockers, owners, open items, and status — using established tools and protocols already in place
  • Drive projects across the finish line; follow-up and closure are yours to own, not to wait for
  • Field questions from IT on active projects — research answers using AI tools, existing documentation, and data exploration before bringing them to the SVP; arrive with a recommendation or a clearly framed decision, not a raw pass-through
  • Own the open requirements on active IT projects — not just tracking them, but actively closing them before they reach IT's desk
  • Arrive at IT with requirements as complete and detailed as possible — field names, table locations, data types, edge cases, business rules — so IT is building, not still scoping
  • Ask the SVP for input on what tools and solutions need to do; translate that direction into precise IT-ready requirements
  • Become a working expert on the existing pricing model — understand how calculations chain together, what the business logic is, and when a change is needed; articulate those changes to IT in plain terms without programming
Data Exploration & Reporting
  • Navigate Snowflake to pull ad-hoc data for proof-of-concept analysis independently — without requiring IT or data engineering support for every query
  • Explore unfamiliar schemas, find the right tables, and validate whether the data supports a business hypothesis
  • Build basic Sigma reports from scratch; modify and extend complex Sigma reports already built by the data engineering team
  • Produce analysis that is good enough to make a decision — know when you're there and when you're still short
  • Document findings clearly enough that IT or engineering can build on them
Process & Documentation
  • Maintain and contribute to an active knowledge base of project documentation, specs, SOPs, and policy documents
  • Follow established documentation conventions and session protocols — this is non-negotiable; the system only works if everyone maintains it
  • Identify friction points in existing processes and surface them clearly — the design of the fix comes from above, but the flag comes from you
  • Support policy and SOP development as directed, using established templates and governance standards
Stakeholder Coordination
  • Work directly with IT, commercial operations, cost administration, supply chain planning, and acquisition teams depending on active project scope
  • Write clear, actionable meeting recaps and coordination emails without prompting
  • Facilitate working sessions with a defined agenda and outcome when needed
What You Bring
Required
  • 4–7 years of experience in a revenue operations, commercial operations, pricing analytics, or strategy & operations role
  • Genuine SQL proficiency — you write your own queries, debug your own results, and can navigate an unfamiliar schema without hand-holding
  • Hands-on experience with a cloud data warehouse (Snowflake preferred; Redshift, BigQuery, or Databricks acceptable)
  • Experience with a BI or analytics tool at working depth — Sigma, Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent
  • Experience as the business-side driver of IT projects — you have sat in that seat, managed that relationship, and brought projects to completion
  • Strong written communication — documentation, recaps, coordination emails, and specs that others can act on
  • ERP exposure — SAP preferred; any major ERP acceptable
  • Active AI tool user — you already use AI (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or equivalent) as a working tool for research, drafting, and analysis, not as a novelty; comfortable directing AI to interrogate systems and surface data to close open requirements
Behavioral
  • Closes loops without being reminded — tracking, follow-up, and escalation are habits, not tasks
  • Executes someone else's vision with fidelity — you make it happen, you don't redirect it
  • Comfortable holding many open items simultaneously without needing false resolution
  • Knows when to decide independently and when to escape — neither over-escalates nor under-escalates
  • Can identify process friction and articulate it clearly; doesn't need to design the solution to flag the problem
Nice to Have
  • SAP pricing experience (condition types, pricing procedures, costing runs)
  • Snowflake-specific experience (schema navigation, role/grant structure, query optimization basics)
  • Familiarity with M365 / SharePoint as a document management and policy environment
  • Exposure to acquisition integration or commercial onboarding workflows
  • Experience in industrial distribution, electrical, or adjacent sectors
What This Role Is Not
  • It is not a full-time project management role — PM discipline is a tool you use for your own projects, not your primary function
  • It is not a data engineering or BI development role — you pull and interpret data for decisions, not for production reporting
  • It is not a strategy or advisory role — the direction comes from above; your job is execution
  • It is not an entry-level analyst role — you are expected to manage your own workload and represent the function independently
