General Position Summary

The Pricing & Contract Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining customer pricing strategies, contract pricing structures, and vendor cost data to support profitable growth and operational execution. This role partners closely with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Procurement to ensure pricing accuracy, contract compliance, and margin optimization across customer agreements, RFPs, and ongoing commercial activities. The Pricing & Contract Manager serves as the primary owner of pricing models, contract pricing governance, and vendor cost management, ensuring customer pricing remains competitive while accurately reflecting vendor costs and operational requirements. Success in this role is measured by pricing accuracy, margin performance, contract compliance, and the ability to support strategic growth initiatives through data driven decision making.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Pricing Strategy & Commercial Support

  • Develop pricing strategies for customer opportunities, renewals, and contract negotiations.
  • Create and maintain pricing models for new business, existing customer expansions, and RFP responses.
  • Analyze deal economics, profitability, pricing trends, and financial impacts to support commercial decision making.
  • Partner with Sales and Operations to structure competitive, profitable customer solutions.
  • Support executive review and approval processes for strategic pricing decisions.
  • Conduct pricing scenario analyses and margin modeling to support business development efforts.

Contract Management & Governance

  • Manage customer pricing schedules, contract amendments, renewals, and pricing updates.
  • Ensure pricing terms within contracts are accurately maintained and implemented.
  • Review customer agreements to ensure pricing structures align with approved financial assumptions.
  • Monitor contract compliance related to pricing, escalations, discounts, rebates, and other commercial terms.
  • Support contract negotiations by providing pricing analysis and commercial recommendations.
  • Maintain documentation of pricing approvals, contract changes, and commercial assumptions.

Vendor Cost & Pricing Management

  • Serve as the primary owner of vendor pricing and cost data across product and service categories.
  • Develop and maintain vendor cost databases, rate cards, pricing schedules, and cost models.
  • Work with vendors to obtain updated pricing, discounts, rebates, and contractual cost information.
  • Evaluate vendor cost changes and assess impact on customer pricing and profitability.
  • Conduct vendor pricing analyses to identify cost savings and margin improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure vendor costs are accurately reflected in customer pricing models and proposals.
  • Maintain pricing consistency and integrity across vendor agreements and customer contracts.

Pricing Analytics & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor pricing performance, margin realization, and contract profitability.
  • Analyze pricing trends, win/loss data, and financial results to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop reporting and dashboards to track key pricing and contract metrics.
  • Lead periodic reviews of pricing assumptions, markups, and cost structures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve pricing processes through automation, standardization, and enhanced analytics.
  • Support annual pricing reviews and customer price adjustment initiatives.

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales, Operations, Finance, Procurement, and Legal teams to support commercial initiatives.
  • Train internal stakeholders on pricing processes, tools, contract requirements, and best practices.
  • Provide pricing guidance and recommendations to business leaders.
  • Support special projects, financial analyses, and strategic initiatives as assigned.

Other Duties & Responsibilities: Develop and maintain pricing guidelines, playbooks, and best practices. Train Sales and Operations teams on pricing tools, assumptions, and pricing processes. Support annual price reviews, pricing adjustments, and contract renewals. Identify opportunities to improve pricing efficiency, automation scalability, and standardization. Support leadership with ad hoc pricing analysis, reporting, and scenario modeling as needed.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or related field required; MBA preferred. 5–8 years of progressive experience in pricing, financial analysis, or commercial strategy roles. Experience supporting large, complex RFPs and strategic customer pricing initiatives required. Experience working with cross-functional Sales, Operations, and Finance teams preferred.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Operations

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to learn and effectively use software applications such as move management, accounting/billing, HRIS (Human Resources Information System), timekeeping and other applications used in the performance of job duties.

Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize as situations and needs change throughout the workday Ability to multi-task and organize workflow to manage daily responsibilities, meet deadlines and prioritize work.
