Job summary

Novo Nordisk in Plainsboro Township, NJ seeks a seasoned Pricing & Policy Insights professional to monitor healthcare reform, model financial impacts, and provide leadership with critical findings.

Collaborate with Policy, Legal/Compliance, Strategy & Innovation, and Investor Relations to develop scenario analyses, guide decisions, and present insights to senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible, relevant experience (pricing, contracting, forecasting, consulting, portfolio analysis, policy analytics, and/or finance and reporting).
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and qualitative analysis skills.
• Ability to deliver messages and presentations clearly and confidently.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage multiple internal relationships at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate healthcare reform changes from financial and strategic perspectives.
• Partner with PA - Policy team to stay updated on federal policy changes and guide prioritization and recommendations.
• Collaborate with legal/compliance on state policy changes and pricing implications.

The Position

This position is responsible for monitoring and assessing the on-going healthcare reform changes, PhaRMA and industry responses, and state-level transparency initiatives. This includes proactively identifying risk, financial modeling, providing findings and key insights to leadership, and supporting strategy development.

Relationships

Reports to Director, Pricing & Policy Insights. Works and partners closely with other team members in Pricing Insights; Public Affairs – Policy; Government Pricing & Compliance; Strategy and Innovation; Market Access; Investor Relations; Finance; Brand Marketing; Other Novo Nordisk internal departments such as Legal, Sales, etc. External relationships include field Account Executives and Directors, Novo Nordisk AS, professional associations, vendors, and customers.

Essential Functions

Evaluates Healthcare Reform/legislative changes from both a financial and strategic perspectiveStrategic partner with PA - Policy team to stay up to date on federal policy changes and help guide the thinking on prioritization & recommendation on potential legislative changesStrategic partner with legal/compliance to stay up to date on state level policy changesDemonstrates an advanced understanding of legislative and regulatory mandates impacting pharmaceutical net price evolution and federal market access.Experience collaborating within a global matrix environment, with a foundational understanding of ex-US market access and pricing frameworks is a plusDrive organizational awareness and understanding of political environment & financial riskAssists in preparing any pricing/policy related analysis for investor relations questions as well as investor roadshowsCollaborates with government pricing team to provide inputs in order to assess all potential pricing changes on government calculations (e.g. URA, 340B)Analyzes the impact on pricing decisions on ARP/profitability and provides guidance to key stakeholderPartner with Strategy & Innovation to provide pricing analytics/insights for strategy evaluation & guidance on future outlookOwns analysis for Risk Report and investor relations documentServe as a key lead with legal & compliance on various workgroupsDevelops scenario impact models on pricing and profitability within key channels.Develops presentations for senior management (StC, Pricing Committee, etc)Serve as key point with legal on congressional inquiries along with any additional pricing and policy related legal requestsSupports business and analytical expertise in the development of tools and methods that will result in more accurate customer profitability assessment and decision-making.Provides ad hoc analyses as required

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree preferredRequires a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible, relevant experience (pricing, contracting, forecasting, consulting, portfolio analysis, policy analytics, and/or finance and reporting); At least 2 years within the pharmaceutical industry preferredA strong level of analytical, quantitative, and qualitative analysis skillsAbility to deliver message and presentations in a clear, confident mannerDemonstrated leadership skills. Demonstrates an ability to manage and influence to ensure business objectives are metAbility to function in a project leadership roleAbility to interact and manage multiple internal relationships at all levels of the businessAttention to detail with an ability and readiness to delve into and resolve data problemAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and other key platforms
