Job summary

Estes Express Lines seeks an analytical support professional to assist Senior Pricing Analysts with historical and hypothetical trend analysis. You will apply the Estes costing model and pricing reports to ensure accurate rates and complete comparative projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent background in business, finance, transportation or logistics.
• Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel; knowledge of Access/AS-400 is preferred.
• Ability to analyze data and perform mathematical calculations.
• Must be self-directed with strong organization and deadline skills.
• Able to lift approximately 20 lbs. as needed.

• Ensure current pricing is entered correctly and accurately.

• Learn Estes pricing philosophy and contribute to pricing tasks.
• Train under Senior Pricing Analysts and Yield Management mentoring.
• Handle miscellaneous analytical projects as assigned.
• Maintain regular attendance and reliability.

Job Summary:

• Provide analytical support to Senior Pricing Analysts by identifying both historical and hypothetical company trends including the following:
• Use the Estes costing model and various internal pricing reports
• Assure current pricing is keyed correctly
• Complete rate comparison projects (to other companies, customer rate conversions per request, etc.)
• Learn the Estes Pricing philosophy and the skills required to price LTL freight
• Gather customer information from the field necessary for accurate costing of freight
• Compile costing analysis for Senior Pricing Analysts
• Train under the mentorship of Senior Pricing Analysts and Yield Management
• Complete miscellaneous analytical projects and responsibilities as assigned
• Regular attendance is required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree preferably in Business, Finance, Transportation, or Logistics; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Knowledge and experience in Access and AS/400 system preferred
• Proficiency in performing mathematical analysis
• Must be self-directed and possess strong organizational skills in order to meet tight deadlines
• Must be able to lift approximately 20 lbs., or more if required by the essential functions of the job
