Job summary

Rand Mutual Assurance in South Africa seeks a Pricing Analyst to join a team responsible for risk rating on Employee Benefit Risk schemes, covering both new and renewal business. The role requires deep knowledge of Group Risk and retirement funds, with emphasis on quotes, pricing design, and stakeholder collaboration.

You will contribute to business growth, client retention and profitability while engaging with internal and external stakeholders to drive pricing excellence and process

Qualifications

  • Matric/Grade 12 and a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years Group Risk retirement fund benefit experience in quoting and pricing.
  • Strong understanding of the group risk industry.
  • Strong technical acumen.
  • Strong CRM skills.
  • Knowledge of group risk products.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing production of new quotes for all benefits.
  • Pricing and benefit design of large/complex new business opportunities.
  • Ensure delivery of new business quotations and pricing for renewal business is appropriately concluded.
  • Ongoing Development of Pricing processes.
  • Supporting the business development teams to grow the portfolio.
  • Management of existing risk book through re-rating of existing schemes.
  • Vulnerable schemes management (existing business).
  • Negotiation with clients, reinsurers, brokers, sales team on all aspects linked to the Group Risk Business.
  • Attend meetings with various stakeholders as required.
  • Ensure effective communication between all stakeholders with a view to building and maintaining good stakeholder relationships.
  • Ensure accurate and timeous provision of information.
  • Implementation of strategic projects and business acquisitions.
  • Resolve escalated technical queries and complaints.
  • Quality control of output.
  • Responsible for ongoing technical development and ongoing maintenance of the quotation system in line with IT strategy including reinsurance treaty changes.

What You’ll Bring To The Table
  • Matric Certificate/Grade 12 qualification
  • Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years Group Risk retirement fund benefit experience – specifically involved in Quoting and Pricing activity
  • Strong understanding of the group risk industry
