Job Description

The Role

Produce price assessments and market intelligence vital to the North American hardwood industry. Maintain our reputation as the most trusted hardwood pricing source for over 100 years. Develop new avenues to embed our data and news across the industry.

Principle Accountabilities

• Assess hundreds of prices weekly using our proprietary MInD database, following published methodologies and IOSCO principles.
• Provide market commentary to contextualize weekly reported prices.
• Create market news and analysis for our Hardwood Market Report and HMR executive publications.
• Identify and cultivate new sources of market data, maintaining a broad network of industry contacts.
• Edit and peer review price assessments to ensure methodological compliance.

Key Interfaces

Collaborate with a team of editors and colleagues across the Forest Products division, including analysts and economists. Work with marketing and events teams to expand the reach of our data. Reports to the hardwood team leader.

• Excellent interviewing, phone, and email etiquette.
• Ability to meet multiple deadlines weekly and daily.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
