Job summary
Caterpillar Inc. in Lafayette, IN is hiring a Preventative Maintenance Technician for 2nd and 3rd shift to service chip and coolant handling systems and assist machine repairmen in two-person tasks around the facility.
The full-time role offers a starting hourly pay range of $30.28 to $38.52 plus a 6% shift premium, potential overtime, a climate-controlled work environment, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) and PTO.
Qualifications
- Must have welding and cutting skills, lubrication principles, and pipefitting.
- Experience with preventive maintenance on CNC machine tools, conveyors, robots, or coolant systems.
- Basic electrical knowledge and ability to read prints.
- Solid understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication, and related systems.
Responsibilities
- Primary area of focus for the Preventative Maintenance Technician will be in the service level for the chip and coolant handling systems.
- Candidate will also provide assistance to the Machine Repairmen to accomplish various "two persons" tasks on equipment in the facility.
- Candidate will autonomously perform minor mechanical repairs and process duties such as unplugging sluices, replacing way wipers, piping, and elimination of air, coolant, and hydraulic leaks.
