Ingham County's Dental Health Center is seeking a licensed Dental Hygienist to conduct exams, provide preventive care and education to promote total health through oral health.

You will perform prophylaxis, sealants and fluoride applications, take and interpret radiographs, maintain patient records, and assist the dentist. Requires an ADA-accredited Associate’s Degree in Dental Hygiene and anesthesia/nitrous certifications; readiness for mobile center work may apply.

Qualifications

• Possession of an Associate’s Degree in Dental Hygiene (ADA-accredited).
• Minimum one year of dental hygiene experience; experience with patient behavioral management preferred.
• Must be certified in local anesthesia and nitrous oxide.
• Demonstrates effective communication skills with patients and staff.

Responsabilités

• Review charts and update patient histories.
• Perform treatments per dentist instructions; document plans.
• Examine mouth, conduct cancer screening; expose/process X-rays.
• Provide prophylaxis; apply fluoride; sealants as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and denture care.
• Maintain infection control; sterilize instruments.
• Assist dentist and staff during procedures.
• Attend CE to maintain licensure.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
