Job summary

The Samish Indian Nation seeks a Prevention/Intervention Specialist to join a collaborative team dedicated to tribal wellbeing. You will develop and implement prevention and recovery programs using funding from multiple sources to support Samish citizens and clients.

You will assess needs, provide resources, coordinate Mental Health Promotion, Suicide Prevention, and Substance Use Disorder initiatives, and track outcomes while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Human Services, Social Work, Psychology or a closely related field; equivalent years of related experience may substitute for a degree.
• Two years of professional group-session facilitation experience with diverse age groups in prevention/recovery contexts.
• Strong knowledge of prevention, recovery and support services; ability to manage projects and budgets.
• Excellent oral and interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
• Must have a valid Washington State driver’s license and meet insurance requirements to use agency vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement prevention and recovery programs using local, state, and federal funding.
• Coordinate recovery coach services and facilitate group recovery sessions.
• Provide outreach and resources to tribal citizens and clients through multiple channels.
• Maintain data on program participation and prepare timely reports to leadership and funders.
• Ensure confidentiality and HIPAA compliance; follow personnel and financial policies.
