Under the general direction of the Interim Assistant Vice President for Title IX & DHR, the Prevention and Education Coordinator will provide strategic planning, leadership, and coordination of campus-wide efforts to develop, implement, and assess evidence-based prevention education resources, programs, initiatives, and awareness campaigns. These efforts aim to prevent sexual misconduct, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, and promote a safe living, learning, and working environment in alignment with federal and state laws as well as CSU Systemwide policies. This includes community-wide and audience-specific prevention, bystander intervention, peer mentoring programs, online resources, and annual trainings targeting various campus populations.
In collaboration with offices such as Title IX/DHR, Clery, and Sexual Violence Advocacy & Education, as well as other departments and external providers, the coordinator will implement training and prevention efforts, including online and in-person trainings, outreach, awareness campaigns, workshops, and conferences, aligned with best practices and recommendations from campus and system reviews.
The role involves managing all stages of research, program development, event planning, facilitation, assessment, and reporting. Supervisory responsibilities may include undergraduate and graduate student assistants and peer educators. The coordinator will analyze data to identify trends, create reports, and recommend program enhancements. Additionally, the coordinator will chair a campus-wide prevention advisory committee and participate in broader campus and community committees addressing sexual misconduct, harassment, and discrimination. Staying informed on Title IX laws, policies, and trauma-informed, culturally responsive prevention education is essential.
This is a full-time, exempt position leading toward permanent status after a probationary period. The salary range is approximately $6,320 - $7,000 per month, commensurate with experience. Benefits include health insurances, retirement, tuition waiver, paid holidays, and more. The position requires in-person work on campus.
