Job summary

Rehrig Pacific in Petersburg, VA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our industrial equipment running smoothly and safely. You will manage preventive maintenance, perform repairs on forklifts, conveyors, and related systems, and support continuous production through proactive maintenance practices.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience, strong mechanical skills, welding and fabrication capabilities, and a comfort with LEAN and 5S basics.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong mechanical skills including forklifts, conveyors, dock doors, and related equipment.
• Welding and metal fabrication expertise.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Own the Upkeep system: Track work orders, schedule repairs, and manage parts.
• Keep equipment alive: Inspect, repair, and install in forklifts, conveyors, and related systems.
• Champion facility upkeep: Maintain a clean, organized, production-ready plant.
• Lead with safety: Adhere to OSHA standards and company protocols.
• Collaborate on LEAN improvements and special projects with leadership.
• Operate forklifts safely and be prepared for training and certification.

Shift Details: Tuesday-Friday 3:30pm-2:00am Pay: $30-34/hour depending on experience

What Youll Be Doing

• Own the Upkeep system: Track work orders, schedule repairs, and manage parts like a pro.
• Keep our equipment alive and kicking: From forklifts to conveyors, youll be the go-to expert for inspections, repairs, and installations.
• Champion facility upkeep: Ensure our plant stays clean, organized, and production-ready.
• Lead with safety: Follow OSHA standards and company protocols to keep everyone safe.
• Collaborate and innovate: Work with leadership on LEAN improvements and special projects.
• Operate forklifts: Safely and efficiently (well train and certify you!).

What You Bring to the Table

• 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong mechanical skillsforklifts, conveyors, dock doors, and more.
• Welding and metal fabrication expertise.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and safety practices.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Great communication skills and a team-first attitude.
• Knowledge of LEAN and 5S practices is a plus.
• Tech-savvy with MS Word, Excel, and web-based systems.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% when needed.
