Job summary

Rehrig Pacific Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Petersburg, VA to keep forklifts, conveyors, and plant equipment running smoothly. You’ll own maintenance tasks, lead safety initiatives, and partner with leadership on LEAN improvements.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of industrial maintenance, welding/fabrication skills, and proficiency with preventive maintenance programs. Must lift up to 70 lbs and be willing to travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical skills—forklifts, conveyors, dock doors and more.
• Welding and metal fabrication expertise.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and safety practices.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Great communication skills and a team-first attitude.
• LEAN and 5S knowledge is a plus.
• MS Word and Excel proficiency; web-based systems experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% when needed.

Responsibilities

• Own the Upkeep system: track work orders, schedule repairs, manage parts.
• Keep equipment running: inspections, repairs, and installations for forklifts and conveyors.
• Champion facility upkeep: keep plant clean and production-ready.
• Lead with safety: follow OSHA standards and company protocols.
• Collaborate on LEAN improvements and special projects.
• Operate forklifts safely (training and certification provided).

What You’ll Be Doing
