Job summary

Dental Technologies Inc. is seeking a maintenance technician in Illinois to repair and maintain machinery, engines, motors, and production equipment.

You will use micrometers, rulers, and power tools to dismantle, repair, test, and recalibrate devices to ensure optimal performance. Responsibilities include reading prints and layouts, following preventive maintenance programs, and complying with cGMP and EHS guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
  • Work from prints, sketches, layouts and instructions.
  • Knowledge of power distribution 240, 480, and 3-phase.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence.

Responsibilities

  • Observe mechanical devices in operation and locate causes of trouble.
  • Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts.
  • Install, maintain and repair a wide range of production equipment and machines.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Repair or replace defective parts.
  • Lubricate and clean parts.
  • Test devices to ensure proper performance.
  • Set up and operate metalworking tools to make/repair parts.
  • Complies with cGMP, EHS guidelines and all procedures.

Job Description

Summary

Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Performs duties to install, maintain and repair a wide range of production equipment and machines.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts.
  • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
  • Lubricates and cleans parts.
  • Starts devices to test their performance.
  • Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
  • Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
  • Repairs electrical equipment.
  • Repairs production and plant equipment, tear down, determine extent of repairs, replace worn or defective parts, reassemble and make operating adjustments.
  • Performs scheduled maintenance duties as assigned or outlined in Preventive Maintenance Program.
  • Installs and relocates machine tools and other plant equipment.
  • Cleans and replaces motors, install power lines, diagnose/troubleshoot and repair electric or electronic controls and lighting circuits.
  • Uses micrometer, rulers, square, level, electrical meters, common hand and hand power tools, machine tools, burning and welding equipment, pipefitting equipment, fork lift truck, backpackers and hoists.
  • Assists in building maintenance activities.
  • Complies with cGMP, EHS guidelines and all working procedures assigned to the position.
  • Performs other tasks, as assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Work from prints, sketches, layouts and instructions. Knowledge of power distribution 240, 480, and 3-phase.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

Ability to look up items for purchasing online and order them.
