Preventative Maintenance Mechanic

Job description

The Preventive Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance on a regular basis.

• Lubricates all equipment and fills out PM Schedules for all JFC equipment
• Real-time electronic reporting of completed PM work orders
• Performs minor repairs found during PM if materials are available in stock
• Inspects equipment condition while performing PM for items needing repair and reports them on Work Order Request Form and to Shop Foreman
• Maintains shop and work areas according to TPR 6S standards
• Performs other duties as directed

Minimum Qualifications and Required Skills:

• High school diploma, GED, or vocational school required.
• Ability to use Microsoft and Apple computer systems
• CDL Class B required
• Must have one to two years direct experience as a PM technician
• Must have the ability to interpret maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams and other documents and to safely operate all company equipment, both on-road and off-road
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
• Ability to follow instructions from supervisors
• Willingness to initiate and embrace change
• Knowledge of machinery and equipment operations.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and maintenance software.
• Capability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues accurately.
• Creative thinking for developing effective maintenance strategies.
• Ability to notice minor signs of wear and tear.
• Ensuring all maintenance tasks are completed to high standards.
• Clear reporting of maintenance findings and recommendations.
• Effective collaboration with other team members and departments.
• Understanding and adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
• Proactive in identifying potential hazards and mitigating risks.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Walking includes moving within an office environment.

• Ability to stand, carry, stoop, kneel and reach frequently
