Position Overview

Position title: Mathematics or Numerical Specialist Teacher

Salary range: $54,166-$109,666

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Principal, The Preuss School Mathematics teachers will provide instruction, encourage student progress, and manage the learning environment. Teach content and skills in subject matter, utilizing courses of study adopted by the California State Curriculum Standards as guidelines. Adapt subject material and methods to develop relevant sequential assignments that guide and challenge students. Establish and maintain an environment conducive to positive teacher/student relations, e.g., on the field, off‑site sessions, locker room supervision. Promote an environment which respects and values students' ideas and ways of thinking. Establish, maintain and support standards of personal conduct and discipline in accordance with the current discipline for an orderly, productive learning environment. Use a variety of assessments to monitor and evaluate the learning progress of each student and to make instructional decisions.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application):

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics
  • Current single subject CTC Credential in Mathematics, or an equivalent teaching credential from another U.S. state
  • English Learner, or Cross‑Cultural, Language and Academic Development (CLAD) Certificate or equivalent authorization from out‑of‑state
  • Minimum of one year teaching as a credentialed mathematics teacher
  • Minimum of one year experience teaching underserved students
