Job summary

JUSTICEPOINT seeks a Jail Screening Specialist in Milwaukee to assess needs of individuals booked into the Milwaukee County Jail and prepare reports used for bail decisions. The role includes face-to-face interviews, risk assessments, and maintaining case information in the electronic system; may assist with the GPS monitoring program after hours.

The ideal candidate is empathetic, detail-oriented, and fluent in Spanish preferred; requires a bachelor’s in Criminal Justice, Social Work,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, or related field or an Associate’s degree with experience.
Valid driver’s license and automobile with insurance.
Background check compliance and COVID-19 vaccination per Milwaukee County requirements.
Fluency in Spanish preferred; prior CJ-involved client work advantageous.

Responsibilities

Conduct face-to-face interviews and pretrial risk assessments.
Prepare actuarial risk assessments and written court reports with recommendations.
Enter and maintain case information in the electronic database.
Process release for Pretrial Supervision and assist with GPS monitoring as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
