Job summary

Weld County Government is seeking a proactive Pretrial Specialist to join its Pretrial Services team in Colorado. The role involves interviewing detainees, assessing release risk, preparing reports, and supporting judicial officers.

Schedule includes a 10-hour shift pattern on Sundays and Mondays-Wednesdays. The position supports pretrial services in jail and office settings, managing caseloads, and coordinating with courts, probation, and agencies to ensure compliance with release conditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in sociology, psychology, human services, corrections and/or social sciences or a related field.
• 1 year related experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assess & Interview Jail Detainees – Interview and assess adults booked into Weld County Jail to determine pretrial release suitability and appearance at future hearings.
• Pretrial Release Supervision – Interview defendants, create supervision plans, explain court orders, and monitor compliance and appearances.
• Training, Meetings & Administrative Duties – Attend seminars and assist staff with case files and cross training.
