General Summary & Scope

The Prestige Beauty Advisor (PBA) is responsible for maximizing sales in the prestige category (color cosmetics, skincare, and fragrance) by engaging guests to determine their needs and assisting in the selection and purchase of prestige merchandise, while adhering to all company policies and standards. This role supports the Sales Manager through a focus on performance, people, and process, requiring a passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and product knowledge.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

The PBA demonstrates Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values through the following duties:

Performance

• Contribute to meeting or exceeding store sales goals, guest loyalty, and other key metrics, with a focus on the prestige category.
• Ensure each guest receives exceptional service by greeting, engaging, personalizing service, and informing about promotions and events.
• Handle sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously.
• Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance guest experience.
• Support in booking and executing services and in-store events.
• Stay informed about industry trends, products, and ingredients to better serve guests.

People

• Contribute to an inclusive environment supporting teammates and guests.
• Collaborate with team members to grow the business.
• Participate in ongoing training to develop product knowledge and sales skills.

Process

• Ensure compliance with company policies and standards.
• Adhere to dress code and maintain store cleanliness and operational standards.
• Keep merchandise replenished, signed, and well-maintained.
• Participate in inventory, resets, and visual displays.
• Promote the guest loyalty program and protect company assets.

Job Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma preferred.
• Cosmetology, esthetician, or demonstrator’s license required where mandated by law.

Experience

• 1 year of relevant work experience or equivalent education and experience preferred.

Skills

• Passion for prestige products, guest service, and selling.
• Strong relationship-building skills.

Additional Requirements

• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Attend meetings and training, including overnight stays if necessary.

Working Conditions

• Frequent movement throughout the store.
• Standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 10 lbs. regularly.
