Job summary

Hargrove is seeking a Pressure Vessel Drafter to support the Pressure Vessel Design Team by generating technical drawings for fabrication and repair of pressure vessels and storage tanks worldwide, using MicroStation CAD. Projects range from small maintenance requests to large capital projects.

Ideal candidate has an Associate degree in Engineering Technology or CAD and 4+ years of mechanical/piping drafting experience, with proficiency in 2D AutoCAD and MicroStation and collaboration with

Qualifications

• Knowledge and application of piping materials.
• Design of less complex process and utility piping systems.
• Knowledge and application of piping supports and restraints.
• Flexibility analysis of piping system.
• Knowledge of manual valve sizing, use and application.
• Drafting of P&ID’s and GA’s.
• Design of piping limited specific equipment and inline instrumentation arrangements such as pump suctions and discharges, tanks, control valve stations, etc.
• Familiarity with specifications and installation details of construction bulk materials and equipment.
• Ability to create accurate mechanical/piping installation documents from the information found on vendor equipment drawings.
• Knowledge and understanding of workflow/information flow between disciplines.
• Knowledge and understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements for the production of all mechanical/piping deliverables.
• Ability to accurately estimate completion of assigned tasks.
• Knowledge and application of company engineering design and CAD drafting standards.
• Working knowledge of 2D AutoCAD and Microstation.

Responsibilities

• Create technical drawings and design layouts for pressure vessels and related equipment
• Creating accurate views, sections, dimensions, and bills of materials, while collaborating with Engineering to ensure design compliance
• Convert concepts from Engineers and Designers into fabrication quality drawings
• Convert vendor drawings into standard site format vessel drawings
• Update existing drawings to reflect changes and repairs as directed by Engineers and Designers
• Collaborate with Vessel Engineers, Designers, Fabricators, and Shop Planners to address design issues to ensure drawings meet vessel code requirements.
