Job summary

Setpoint Integrated Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Pressure Relief Valve Technician II to perform advanced assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of pressure relief valves and related equipment. You will mentor junior staff and may lead assigned areas, following strict quality procedures.

Preferred candidates hold Green Tag Level II, PMI training, and proficiency with Dial caliper and Micrometer. Knowledge of OSHA standards and TWIC is advantageous for site access and safety.

Qualifications

• HS Education or GED equivalent is a plus.
• 2-5 years of industry experience in valve or related fields.
• Completion of Green Tag Certification through Level II.
• Completion of PMI training or certification.
• Proficiency with precision dimensional equipment (dial caliper, micrometer).
• Completed inspection assessment and quality procedures.

Responsibilities

• Follow Company Quality Standardization Procedures for valve assembly and testing.
• Locate, use, and read manufacturer installation and operation manuals.
• Perform inspections to identify corrective actions as authorized.
• Assemble, test, and troubleshoot valves and equipment per codes and customer requirements.
• Install instrumentation/accessories as necessary and operate diagnostic equipment.
• Calibrate measurement equipment and record critical dimensions.

Summary

The role of Pressure Relief Valve Technician II involves performing advanced tasks related to the assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of pressure relief valves and other equipment. Responsibilities include locating, using, and comprehending manufacturer installation and operation manuals, performing inspections to identify necessary corrective actions, and operating diagnostic equipment. The technician will also support Pressure Relief Valve Technician I employees through mentoring and on-the-job training, and may act in a leadership role for assigned areas.

Responsibilities

• Follow Company Quality Standardization Procedures for all aspects of valve assembly and testing
• Locate, use, and comprehend manufacturer installation and operation manuals
• Perform inspection to identify necessary corrective action as authorized
• Perform PMI
• Assemble, test, and troubleshoot valves and other equipment per applicable codes and standards per manufacturer and/or customer requirements
• Install instrumentation/accessories as necessary
• Operate diagnostic equipment (i.e., EVT, AVK, Hydroset, etc.)
• Perform calibration of measurement equipment in accordance with internal quality procedures
• Measure and record critical dimensions per manufacturer specifications
• Support Pressure Relief Valve Technician I employees through mentoring and/or on-the-job (OJT) training
• May act in a leadership role for assigned area

Positional Requirements & Qualifications

Education & Experience

• HS Education or GED Equivalent a plus
• 2 - 5 years of industry experience

Skills & Abilities

• Meets all Pressure Relief Valve Technician I qualifications and requirements
• Successful completion of all applicable Quality Standardization Procedures
• Completed Green Tag Certification through Level II
• Completed inspection assessment
• Successful completion of Pressure Relief Valve Level II Written and Performance Tests
• Completed Pilot Valve Training
• Basic OSHA and TWIC card (TWIC, only if required)
• Demonstrate the ability to properly assemble and test valves/equipment of multiple pressure relief valve manufacturers
• Demonstrate proficient use of precision dimensional equipment (i.e., dial caliper, micrometer, etc.)
• Demonstrate ability to bend and fit tubing
• Complete certification training for use of Positive Material Identification (PMI) equipment
• Completion of diagnostic equipment training and/or certification
• Demonstrate proficiency in operating test equipment (steam, air, liquid)
• Demonstrate proficiency in calibration of test gauges and/or transducers
• Complete certification of Certified Individual (CI)
• Effective oral & written communication skills
• Demonstrated "can do" attitude and excellent customer service skills

Essential Physical Functions

• Lifting: up to 50 pounds
• Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions
• Lift and carry: 50 pounds for 100 feet
• Bending, stooping, walking and climbing stairs
• Able to passperiodic medical evaluations and respirator fit tests to ensure continued compliance with OSHA standards.
