Job summary

Kikkoman is seeking a Pressing & Refining Operator to support soy sauce production on detailed, technically demanding lines. The role requires reading timers, managing charging equipment, and maintaining strict cleanliness in a high-temperature, humid environment.

The candidate should be highly detail oriented with mechanical aptitude, capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, and able to operate a forklift for material handling. Safety and SOP adherence are essential.

Job description

The Pressing & Refining Operators report to the Utility Operator. This role is the final portion of soy sauce production. This position requires a high level of detail and mechanical aptitude to be successful. In this role one can expect to use various equipment to either press out soy sauce or create variations of the final product including high viscosity items. Below are various responsibilities that may be expected depending on the line an individual is assigned to.Duties and Responsibilities:Employees will be working with high and low hydraulic oil pressure.They will start the charging machines and watch and hear to see if it is running correctly.The job requires running a hoist to lift the stainless-steel plates and lower them into the charging machine.The employee must record the times of the start, the finish, and the number of folds.General cleaning is required.Employees will be working with high and low hydraulic oil pressure.This job requires reading digital timers and clearing and resetting of the timers.It also requires pushing buttons, opening valves and watching when preparing to move the cake.Must be able to open an air valve and walk and push the cake while on an air pallet.When settling the press, you have to be able to align the cake under a steel cage and lower the cage over the cake.Check the final alignment when settling the press.Remove the top portion of the cage and replace it on an empty cage waiting to be washed.Blend & Cook ingredients based on recipes.Heat products based on SOP’s.Filtering and sedimentationNB-Add system and lite system; DialyzerHigh Viscosity cooking and mixingOperate forklift to retrieve and stock ingredients.Load and Unload tank trucks.Comply with all departmental & company-wide food safety policies & procedures.Other duties as assigned.Skills & Abilities:Ability to effectively communicateHighly detail orientedUnderstanding and knowledge of basic mechanicsPhysical & Behavioral:Frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hearFrequently required to reach above shoulders, climb, work at heights, crouch, stoop or kneelFrequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds usually from floor to waist level, and able to lift 25 pounds repetitively at or above shoulder heightAbility to work under conditions of high temperature and high humidity for extended periods of timeKikkoman expects all employees to behave and communicate in a manner which will facilitate good relations with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors; maintaining a positive work atmosphere
