Press Straightening Operator - Heat Treatment

Location: Houston, Texas, USA

Department: Industrial Operations

Purpose: Performs the operation of straightening pipe heads and ends, in a safe and efficient manner according to applicable procedures, complying with defined quality standards.

Main Responsibilities:

• Commit with health, safety and environmental policies and notify situations that present potential risk.
• Ensure product quality complying with defined standards and reporting deviations.
• Carry out duties in an efficient manner meeting productivity and efficiency standards in accordance with minimum costs.
• Perform activities according to applicable procedures.
• Complete and update all applicable records ensuring information accuracy and product traceability.
• Ensure proper use of the company assets, detecting and reporting malfunctioning.
• Attend and collaborate in training activities in order to maintain and increase the company knowledge.
• Proactively suggest improvements and participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Maintain a clean and ordered workplace.
• Perform activities understanding their consequences on the global process.
• Abide by Tenaris discipline norms.

Main Activities:

• Execute change over and set up of the machine.
• Place pipe heads or ends in the machine.
• Control pipe straightness with a comparer.
• Detect parts to be straightened.
• Operate the press straightener.
• Perform pipe heads and ends straightening and sizing.
• Carry out pipe visual and dimensional control.
• Ensure instruments are in good condition checking their expiration date and correct functioning.
• Assist machine lock outs and tag outs and perform operative maintenance.
• Update information in the tracking systems.

Minimum Qualification for the Job:

• Ability to work rotating shift to include nights and weekends.
• Previous Heat Treatment experience preferred.
• Product Inspection when applicable.
• Certification when applicable.
