Press Straightening Operator - Heat Treatment
Location: Houston, Texas, USA
Department: Industrial Operations
Purpose: Performs the operation of straightening pipe heads and ends, in a safe and efficient manner according to applicable procedures, complying with defined quality standards.
Main Responsibilities:
- Commit with health, safety and environmental policies and notify situations that present potential risk.
- Ensure product quality complying with defined standards and reporting deviations.
- Carry out duties in an efficient manner meeting productivity and efficiency standards in accordance with minimum costs.
- Perform activities according to applicable procedures.
- Complete and update all applicable records ensuring information accuracy and product traceability.
- Ensure proper use of the company assets, detecting and reporting malfunctioning.
- Attend and collaborate in training activities in order to maintain and increase the company knowledge.
- Proactively suggest improvements and participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain a clean and ordered workplace.
- Perform activities understanding their consequences on the global process.
- Abide by Tenaris discipline norms.
Main Activities:
- Execute change over and set up of the machine.
- Place pipe heads or ends in the machine.
- Control pipe straightness with a comparer.
- Detect parts to be straightened.
- Operate the press straightener.
- Perform pipe heads and ends straightening and sizing.
- Carry out pipe visual and dimensional control.
- Ensure instruments are in good condition checking their expiration date and correct functioning.
- Assist machine lock outs and tag outs and perform operative maintenance.
- Update information in the tracking systems.
Minimum Qualification for the Job:
- Ability to work rotating shift to include nights and weekends.
- Previous Heat Treatment experience preferred.
- Product Inspection when applicable.
- Certification when applicable.
