Job summary

Wolverine Industries in Alabama is seeking motivated workers for 12-hour continental shifts (6 a.m.–6 p.m.) with competitive pay and benefits. The role includes frequent lifting, material handling, and coordination with shipping and production teams.

Evening/Night shifts receive a $1.50 per hour differential and attendance bonuses. Candidates must have a High School Diploma/GED and be willing to obtain forklift and crane certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Willing to obtain forklift and crane certifications; prior forklift/side loader experience is a plus.
• Manufacturing experience in industrial production preferred.
• Available for nights, weekends, and overtime.
• Able to read/understand production documents and safety manuals.
• Basic math, reading, and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Staging/prepack materials to align with shipment schedule.
• Move bundles from packing line to shipping area.
• Transfer racks between finish saws and pre-age queue areas.
• Replace full racks with empty ones.
• Load/unload goods and assist driver with load positions.
• Manage scrap movement and ensure safe loading.
• Operate age oven and manage queues per quality system.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Staging prepack material in the packing queue in a manner that coincides with the shipment schedule.
• Removing bundles of packed goods from the packing line to the shipping area.
• Remove full pre-age material racks from finish saws at the extrusion press to the pre-age queue area.
• Replace full racks with empty racks.
• Loading finished goods onto trailers/trucks assisting driver with load positions. Unloading deliveries such as supplies, logs etc.
• Manage scrap movement from presses/packing to scrap trailers, ensuring trailers are properly and safely loaded.
• Load and unload the age oven, manage the queue systems in place to ensure material is properly managed per the quality management system.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Verifying the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming deliveries
• Labeling every product and placing them accordingly
• Identifying and locating the right products during the delivery process
• Keeping a well-maintained and updated account of stock and inventory
• Handling returns by completing technical documentation and other required communication.
• Keeping all material handling equipment in the best condition by conducting regular maintenance
• Conveying purchasing requirements and keeping data on the availability of products in short supply
• Collaborating with internal departments to locate missing packages, fix incorrect deliveries and replace damaged products.

Skills & Education:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Ability to achieve forklift and crane certifications (prior forklift and side loader experience a plus).
• Manufacturing experience working in industrial production is strongly preferred.
• Must be available for nights and weekends with occasional overtime.
• Capable of reading and understanding production documents and safety manuals.

Essential Physical Functions:

• Ability to work on the production floor with exposure to dust, fumes, odors, loud noise, and varying temperatures.
• Ability to perform physical tasks that are repetitive.
• Ability to do work requiring standing with frequent stooping, bending, reaching overhead and sufficient manual dexterity to perform all aspects of the job.
• Ability to lift, move parts and equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Able to work 12 hour shifts primarily standing.
