Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking a Press Operator Trainee to learn and perform extrusion-related tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role requires reading production schedules, inspecting extrusions, operating extrusion equipment, and following recipes and procedures.

Training is provided through New Employee Orientation; candidates should have mechanical aptitude, basic computer skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • Must understand extrusion process.
  • Able to read and interpret extrusion drawings.
  • Knowledge of precision measuring devices and their applications.
  • Good mechanical and technical aptitude; able to use a computer.
  • Able to work under minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Read production schedules and record accurate information.
  • Inspect extrusions for compliance with specifications and determine acceptability.
  • Strive to maximize production targets and maintain quality while minimizing scrap and cost.
  • Operate all equipment which is part of extrusion.
  • Familiar with operating procedures and paperwork at the B/O saw.
  • Read, understand and implement routing tickets/HMI.
  • Use Cadex system to improve dies performance.
  • Assist with training of employees as required.
  • Follow procedures set by the recipes.
  • Inform maintenance when equipment needs attention.
  • Follow up press practices based on various alloys.
  • Communicate well with quality department.
  • Other duties as required.

Knowledge of precision measuring devices and their applications* **Skills & Abilities**: Good mechanical and technical aptitude. Understanding and ability in the use of a computer. Able to work under minimum supervision**Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Job:**1. Read production schedules and record accurate information2. Inspect extrusions for compliance with specifications, communicate potential problems and determine acceptability.3. Strive to maximize production targets and maintain a quality product while minimizing production scrap and cost. Use discretionary judgment to quickly correct production deviations4. Operate all equipment which is part of extrusion5. Familiar with operating procedures and paperwork at the B/O saw6. Read, understand and implement instructions on routing tickets/HMI7. Use Cadex system to improve dies performance8. Assist with training of employees as required9. Follow procedures set by the recipes10. Inform maintenance when equipment needs attention11. Follow up press practices base on various alloys12. Communicate well with quality department13.
