Operate and maintain a stamping press of 500-2,000 ton.
Assembles, installs, and aligns dies in press according to specifications working with die setters.
Starts press and observes operation to detect misalignment or malfunction.
Inspects work pieces for conformance to specifications and adjusts machine to correct errors including first piece.
This full-time, hourly role is a part of our Production team and reports to the Production Supervisor.

Required experience:

• Experience running Progressive or Transfer press

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Must be familiar with press operations.
• Installs and aligns dies in press according to specifications working with die setters.
• Set press controller to correct job.
• Set up and place coil on mandrel.
• Adjust coiler and straightener and runs coil through feeder.
• Starts press and observes operation to detect misalignment or malfunction.
• Runs strip and/or blanks through the die.
• Inspects stamped pieces for conformance to specifications and adjusts machine to correct errors including first piece.
• Cleans and maintains 5s standards at work station.
• Adds lubricants to press as needed.
• Catches, packs, and inspects parts.
• Operate Quality Gages.
• Fill out lot tags, production reports, and last piece approval tag.
• Reports any problems to Supervisor.
• Identify all dies and part numbers for all prog presses.
• Identify all coil labels to match die numbers for all prog jobs.
• Band unfinished coils on all Prog presses.
• Identify and use feeder, straightener, and press controls properly on all Prog presses.
• Set up for proper flatness of steel on all Prog presses.
• Identify the part container, the quantity of parts, and the proper labeling needed for each job on all Prog presses.
• Change the date stamp in the die.
• Troubleshoot tool vs. settings.
• All job duties of a Production I Operator
• Ability to read and understand Die Protection Sensors.
• Ability to read and understand tonnage monitors.
