Highlands Diversified Services LLC is seeking a Press Operator II to independently operate mechanical presses in our London, KY facility. The ideal candidate will understand quality gage aspects, assist in tool setup, and work toward first piece approval while maintaining a safe, clean shift environment.

The position requires reading micrometers, calipers, and gauges, with ability to meet production goals. Overtime up to 10–12 hour shifts and potential weekend work may be required to support

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must be able to read micrometers, calipers, and scales.
  • Ability to understand press controls and gaging.
  • Willing to work overtime up to 10–12 hour shifts, 7 days a week if needed.

Responsibilities

  • Operate progressive and hand transfer presses.
  • Adjust presses to maintain part quality.
  • Follow Stamp PI process sheets for parts.
  • Learn tool set-up functions and achieve first piece approval.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Meet production requirements and read quality gauges.
  • Relieve coworkers for breaks and manage MQ1/HDS One Stop programs.
  • Perform quality checks at required times.

Press Operator II - HDS

Job Summary

Can independently operate a mechanical press, understands quality gage aspects, and can produce quality parts. Can assist in tool set-up process as well as achieving a first piece approval without assistance. Can maintain a safe, clean work environment during his / her entire shift. Meets target production goals in a timely manner.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Must be able to run both progressive and hand transfer tools.
  • Must be able to adjust press to maintain the quality of parts.
  • Must be able to produce parts per the Stamp PI process sheets.
  • Must be able to learn tool set-up functions and to work on achieving a first piece approval without assistance.
  • Be able to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Meet production requirements for the parts being ran.
  • Must be able to read micrometers, calipers, and scales.
  • Be able to use gages required to maintain quality parts.
  • Learn and perform all functions in relation to QAD Inventory system.
  • Perform Quality checks correctly and at the proper times required.
  • Can relieve other Press Operator II associates for breaks, lunches, restroom, etc.
  • Must be able to learn and perform job functions related to MQ1, and HDS One Stop programs.
  • Assist in rework activities as assigned.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

  • Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Must be able to use hand tools
  • Must be able to understand press controls, gaging, and all paperwork.

Required Safety Equipment

  • Cut resistance gloves
  • Safety Glasses
  • Cut resistance sleeves (worn to elbow)
  • Earplugs or Muffs

Educational skills required

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

Training required

  • Must complete Overhead Crane Training
  • Must complete Press Classes

Physical Job Requirements – ALL jobs

  • Must be able to sit, reach above shoulders, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs on a consistent basis
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed, 10 hour or 12 hour shifts (up to 7 days a week.)
  • Must be able to stand 10 hour to 12 hour shifts (up to 7 days a week.)
