Job summary

Advantage Label & Packaging is seeking an entry-level Level I Press Operator to support the production team in Grand Rapids, MI. You will assist with dies, inks, and plates, helping to keep presses running smoothly and efficiently.

As part of a collaborative, family-oriented environment, you will learn from more experienced operators, participate in setup and changeover, and contribute to delivering a quality product for customers while maintaining a clean, organized work area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Ability to pass a color vision deficiency test.
• Must be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Assist Level II–IV Press Operators with production of a quality product.
• Assist with set-up and change-over to improve efficiency.
• Handle the delivery and return of dies, print cylinders, and inks.
• Mount plates for flexographic presses, staging multiple jobs.
• Mix inks for upcoming jobs.
• Keep presses running during breaks.
• Maintain a clean, neat, organized production area.
• Work with pre-production and production teams respectfully.
• Manage time effectively.

Job Summary:

Level I Press Operators are responsible for assisting Level II, III & IV Press Operators with the production of a quality product, increasing efficiency during set-up and change-over.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

• Handle the delivery and return of dies, print cylinders & inks.
• Mount plates for flexographic presses, staging two or more jobs in advance.
• Mix inks needed for upcoming jobs.
• Complete press double-checks as needed.
• Keep presses running during breaks.
• Be agile, moving to where the work is if necessary and as directed by the Production Supervisor.
• Keep production area clean, neat, and organized.
• Work with pre-production individuals as a team, and with respect.
• Effectively and efficiently manage time.
