Qualifications

• 5 to 10 years of manufacturing experience as a press operator.
• Ability to lift and move equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Demonstrated ability to operate and set up mechanical presses and automation equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and work with others in a team environment.
• Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control methods and their applications.
• Frequently ascend/descend stairs and work platforms.
• Ability to operate hand tools as required.

Responsibilities

• Operate forging press safely with a focus on quality.
• Set up forging press in accordance with setup cards and prescribed procedures.
• Make necessary adjustments for quality, tonnage, and ease of operation.
• Perform pre-operation inspections of press; take corrective actions and notify supervision of issues.
• Set up and maintain automation equipment.
• Visually inspect forgings during production; confer with Hot Inspector, Lead Person, and/or Supervisor regarding quality concerns.
• Direct, instruct, and assign crew members to ensure department objectives are achieved.
• Work under general supervision, following standardized procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
