Description

Ideal Candidate:

We seek self-motivated and disciplined individuals interested in becoming Silk Screen Operators to join our apparel production team. Candidates who complete the 90 to 120-day apprenticeship and pass the skills test can qualify for up to $20.00 hourly as a Press Team Lead.

Throughout the apprenticeship, you will work alongside experienced Press Operators to learn the mechanics, skills, and knowledge to become an effective Press Team Lead.

Team Leads are responsible for set-up procedures, leading a press team, operating and maintaining automatic presses, and producing premium-quality printed designs. During training, you will learn how to stay on schedule, meet daily production quotas, successfully communicate and lead a press team, inspect the quality of finished products, and maintain safe and clean stations.

Ideal candidates are eager to learn, committed to performing at their best, and have a keen eye for detail. The role requires flexible daily work schedule adjustments to meet production needs and a punctual and reliable attendance record.

Press Team Leads are responsible for:

  • Review work orders to determine set-up specifications and special instructions
  • Train and lead team members on screen printing processes
  • Confirm design registration
  • Set up screens and inks according to work order specifications and produce test prints for graphics approval.
  • Verify the number of units; garments are arranged correctly, and verify logo placement
  • Operate presses, ensuring garments are placed perfectly for even alignment of design
  • Quality control of finished products
  • Perform press clean-up, maintenance, and troubleshooting on the machine.
  • Count and record hourly garments completed.
  • Perform end-of-day protocols, equipment, and stations are clean and shut down at the end of the shift
  • Review new techniques regarding ink, treatments, and new products on the market.
  • Aid other departments during lulls in your day.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Punctual and reliable attendance. Dependable and strong work ethic
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and reliable work practices are a must.
  • An enthusiastic, positive person who embraces work with a sense of urgency and persistence
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Plus, if you have experience as a Screen Press Operator with Plastisol inks, primary colors, identifying and mixing colors, or burning, cleaning, and reclaiming screens.
  • Plus, if you have hands-on experience with proven quality control

Requires the ability to:

  • Adhere to time & attendance policies, procedures, and work area schedule
  • Must be able to decipher all colors for color mixing.
  • Read and understand work instructions
  • Demonstrate integrity and honesty in daily duties.
  • Must be able to traverse the production facility
  • Maintain stamina for up to eight hours a day of physical labor, including walking, standing, lifting, squatting, bending, packing, and moving around the warehouse.
  • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills and work as a team member
  • Frequently handle several projects simultaneously, and perform duties with little or no supervision
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds at a time
