Job summary

The D.S. Brown Company, a Gibraltar Industries Company, headquartered in North Baltimore, Ohio, seeks a Machine Press Operator to produce molded elastomeric bridge bearings and operate presses, cranes, and forklifts.

The role requires reading work orders and drawings, maintaining quality, and adhering to safety standards; on-site shifts with potential overtime. Schedule is Monday through Thursday, 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM, with a $1.50 shift premium for 2nd & 3rd shifts and a $1,000 sign-on bonus

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a manufacturing plant.
• Ability to operate one or more manual machines.
• Read and understand production work orders and basic drawings.
• Mechanical aptitude for problem solving.
• Good math skills and measurement with calipers or tape.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Maintain 6S housekeeping and safety standards.
• Excellent work attendance and reliability.
• Able to work any shift and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload presses and reassemble molds per work orders.
• Operate molding presses and related tools safely.
• Handle forklift and overhead crane operations as required.
• Read work orders and interpret basic drawings for production.
• Maintain quality, meet production schedules, and troubleshoot issues.
• Keep work area clean and organized in line with 6S principles.

The Machine Press Operator will perform tasks associated with the production of molded elastomeric bridge bearings. This position will load and/or unload presses and reassemble molds per production work order instructions. In addition, this role will be responsible for operating molding presses, handling tool equipment, forklift and overhead crane operations to perform job duties. The role is responsible for running production work orders safely while maintaining quality products, without rejection.

What you'll do

• Mechanical aptitude needed for problem solving
• Good math skills and ability to measure parts with calipers and/or tape measure
• Strong attention to detail
• Maintain housekeeping standards in accordance with 6S principles
• Must have excellent work attendance
• Able to work any shift and overtime as needed

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift at least 50lbs on a continuous basis
• Manual pushing and pulling of material/product
• Stand for up to 10 hours a day
• Ability to work in a dirty environment and under extreme temperature conditions
