Job summary

RR Donnelley & Sons in Minnesota is seeking a skilled Flexographic Press Operator to set up, adjust, operate, and maintain multiple press units. You will perform make-ready tasks, mount plates or install print cylinders, and verify image alignment to ensure high-quality production.

The role requires knowledge of flexographic printing processes, strong technical skills, and the ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain the Flexographic press.
• Perform make-ready tasks: mounting plates or installing cylinders, check image alignment.
• Make color corrections and adjust anilox/press to meet quality specs.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press; perform minor repairs.
• Perform periodic maintenance per manufacturer recommendations.

Job Description

• The position is responsible to set up, adjust, operate, and maintain a number of press equipment
• Perform all make-ready tasks associated with the Flexographic press operated such as mounting plates or installing print cylinders, examine plates/cylinders for imperfections and checks for correct positioning of images, prepping web paths, adjusting tension and register etc.
• Make necessary color correction and anilox adjustment and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the work
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as required
• Performs periodic maintenance recommended by the manufacturer

Qualifications

• Requires a thorough knowledge of Flexographic printing procedures, materials and specifications, equipment, and safety requirements and skills to perform assignments
• Skill to read and understand job specifications and knowledge of press capabilities to determine the most appropriate press usage, press settings and materials needed to run the job successfully
• Skill to make a variety of difficult precise web paths, and adjustments, and to perform routine operational maintenance of equipment
• Skill in routine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment
• Knowledge of basic computer skills, excel, Word and Google, preferred
• Skill in use of Mark Andy, Aquaflex, Comco, Webtron, Gallus, Nil Peter preferred.

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $28.00 to $42.00 per hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
