Job Description
- This position is for a Press Operator 2
- This position will start on 1st shift (6am - 2pm) and will transition to 12-hour rotating Day shift (Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday)
- Inexperienced candidates pay starts at $25.49/hr. Experienced candidates will be eligible for a higher pay rate.
Requirements:
- The position is responsible to set up, adjust, operate, and maintain press equipment.
- Perform all make-ready tasks associated with the type of press operated, such as hanging plates or installing cylinders, examining plates/cylinders for imperfections, checking for correct image positioning, prepping blankets, adjusting tension and register, etc.
- Make necessary color corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production to meet quality specifications.
- Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as required.
- Perform periodic maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer.
Qualifications:
- Requires thorough knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials, specifications, equipment, and safety requirements, along with skills to perform assignments.
- Ability to read and understand job specifications and knowledge of press capabilities to determine appropriate press usage, settings, and materials.
- Skill to make precise adjustments of controls and perform routine operational maintenance.
- Knowledge of the appropriate packing pressure for different jobs.
- Skill in using micrometers to mount and align printing plates correctly.
